Associate Pastor,

Rev. Brett Everett

Thank you for taking a moment to check out my bio. If we’ve not yet met in person, please consider this my personal invitation for you to stop by my office, talk Pittsburgh Steelers football (or theology if you’d rather!) and bless me by sharing your story.

What should you know about this guy who has been in ministry for nearly thirty years? I am a family man and love the fact my wife and children are plugged into like ministries at the church enabling us at times to serve side-by-side. I am married to Heather and we have two amazing children Nathaniel and Hannah. One of our greatest joys is traveling as a family along with a team from Christ Church to Haiti each summer to visit our sponsor child and the people of her village of Las Aguas. A piece of our familial heart is in missions and we love to serve together in local or global missions every chance we get.  More so, we also love to worship, serve and learn alongside our beloved church family.

When we aren’t at church, there’s a good chance you will find my family and me at a soccer field somewhere across the Phoenix valley.  We are serious soccer junkies. I have had the wonderful privilege of coaching both my children since they were very young in club and school settings. We have developed many wonderful friendships around the game and cherish the time we have to escape the pressures of the world for a spell to enjoy a game or two. And speaking of escaping, one of our favorite places on the planet is Ocean Isle Beach, NC. There is nothing for us that compares to dipping our toes in the Atlantic and enjoying time with precious family in the warm ocean breeze.

Education and Ministry Experience:

My family and I are AZ transplants from a small farming community in northwest PA (Cochranton) and we really do miss the four seasons (although AZ seems to have three: hot, hotter and ridiculously hot!). I grew up on a family dairy farm and worked as an electrical engineer in the mining machinery business for eleven years before I responded to God’s call into full-time ministry. Fun fact: My first assignment was at the church I had attended as a teen and young adult in my home town (and where I also had met and married the founding pastor’s daughter!). I have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Grove City College (Grove City, PA) and a Master of Divinity from Winebrenner Theological Seminary (Findlay, OH).  Besides engineering and pastoring, I have also taught Bible and technology classes at a local Christian school as well as theology (ethics) at the former Jamaica Bible College and Community Institute in Mandeville, Jamaica, West Indies. As a soccer coach, I hold my Advanced Certification through AYSO and my National Interscholastic Coaching certification and accreditation through NFHS.  I love playing sports, checking off items on my “honey do” list, following my kids to the ends of the earth, and reading.  My favorite books of the Bible are Philippians, Romans and Acts.
