Growing With Us In Worship

Prior to COVID-19, every Sunday morning, we offered two worship services that were inter-generationally led with adults, young adults, and youth leading in parts of worship. A Traditional Worship Service at 9:00am, and a Contemporary Worship Service at 11:00am. Our plan is to return to these two styles of worship once it is safe to do so and a large enough number of our congregation and guests return to public gatherings.

During this season as Arizona continues to recover from the spread of COVID-19 we are offering public worship every week in a single blended worship service on Sunday mornings at 9:00am, as well as live-streaming worship online for those who want to join us from home. If you would like to join us online, our worship service can be viewed at our YouTube Channel or Facebook Page. You can also join us for online daily prayer led by our pastors and weekly adult classes at our Facebook Page.

Traditional Worship

The order of worship for the Traditional Worship Service is designed to help worshipers approach God so they can receive grace. They are called to worship, participate in corporate confession and pardon, offer up the prayers of the people, praise the Lord through hymns and the sharing of their gifts, then they receive a word of response from the Lord in the sermon and the closing benediction. Every month communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month. Baptisms occur throughout the year.

The music for our Traditional Worship Service is Directed by Dr. David Wilson. Throughout the year our traditional service has wonderful choir pieces, special anthems, bell choir arrangements, special musical guests, and other traditional elements. If you would like to explore joining our choir or have questions about upcoming concerts, please contact Dr. David Wilson.

Contemporary Worship

The order of worship in the Contemporary Worship Service is designed to help worshipers draw near to the Lord through praise and prayer and the sharing of their gifts, and to receive a special word from the Lord in the message and closing blessing.  Every month communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month. Baptisms occur throughout the year.

Throughout the year our contemporary service has current musical arrangements, special guest worship leaders, and moving relevant devotions within our musical set. If you would like to inquire about joining our worship band or have questions about this service please contact our church office.

Following The Story

At Christ Church we celebrate "The Liturgical Year" by following The Story of Jesus and The Story of the People of God each year. Our sermon series follow the Revised Common Lectionary during Advent to Epiphany, again during Lent through Easter, and on Pentecost Sunday. In our Traditional Worship Service our pastors wear vestments and stoles that follow "The Liturgical Year" colors. These practices are a great way for us to allow the story of Christ to go down deep into our lives as we rehearse his story together and celebrate it each year in our corporate rituals.

Upcoming Concerts

Throughout the year at Christ Church we love to celebrate the arts through free to the public music concerts. Each year we have a special Uganda Children's Choir concert, a number of piano recitals, an Old-Fashioned Christmas Concert, and other performances like the opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors." As we have upcoming concerts that you and your family can enjoy we will share the details of them below.
